This paper explores identity in art, specifically the ways artists intentionally construct identity through art. Participants in this study were asked to formulate responses to a design brief on self-expression, which will reveal fragments of who they are, and how they conceive themselves. By closely examining these responses along with noteworthy contemporary (2010-2020) examples of unique artistic self-expression, we may soon get an idea of the numerous ways one can construct an identity.
